ASHVALE 0.8.86 is live: Ziibiing has moved. The Ojibwe village now stands on the far continent at 50 N, in maple country, on a river thirty-four paces wide with a bank on either side - the climate the sugar bush and the manoomin were always meant for.

ASHVALE 0.8.85 is live: a chess park on Saltmere's quay green. Four stone tables with slate-and-sandstone boards, a driftwood set against a whalebone one on each. Sit on a bench and the board fills your screen from your own seat; tap a piece and its moves light up.

Arcade update: new on ASHVALE today (2 October) - ASHVALE is on version 0.6.1 on the Games tab. Same world, same character, same saved progress. - Weather comes in gently. Fog, rain and snow now fade in and out over a few seconds instead of snapping on and off, so a bank of fog closing over the woods gives you time to see it coming. - Other players hold still. Avatars no longer blink out and walk back in from where they were standing a few seconds ago, and a player's name stays attached to them instead of being reassigned to whoever you can see. - There is a new app beside the game: the ASHVALE Atlas. Spin the whole planet, zoom in on any parcel and step onto it — you are standing on that ground with the land around you, you can walk or run across it, and one button takes you back up to space.
